Unless you are in Minnesota, where they “get it,” and cross country ski a lot, you will have a hard time finding Nordic Walking poles in Sports stores. Really. It has not yet caught on like in Europe. (They do tend to lead the USA in fitness.)
I guide hikes at Yosemite and trekking poles were unheard of in the 1990’s. I saw some Euros with them..whazat? They explained how to use them. I now do all hikes with them. Going downhill they take the pressure off your knees. Really. But those are Trekking (aka hining) poles. they are different.
