What’s a good overall workout? What muscles does Nordic Walking work on?

Nordic Walking religion touts that you’ll get a good overall workout. True – Nordic Walking, swimmming and the rowing machine are the best ways to get a tone all over. (not  TAN – that’s bad).

Look at the groups that NW focuses on:  Well, about 90% of them!

I’m not kidding. Get your poles out and go around the block. Now, think about this diagram. Can you feel those areas tightening? Just walk naturally, but be sure to use the correct technique. Push into the ground with the pole tips. Keep them behind  you. Push push push….easy but firmly. Have the poles propel you forward.

You should be consistent – it’s not intensity – it’s consistency that makes the difference.
