Nordic Walking is a great way to keep in shape during COVID-19 Lock-down

The virus is winning now. But there are ways to keep from gaining 20 pounds in the next few months.

The SF Bay area (my home in San Jose has a “shelter in place.” I call it Duck & Cover. So we are stuck in our home. It gives me a lot of time to do all those “rainy day” tasks.

My gym is closed. When i was there Sunday, only 20 or so people were inside. It was easy to keep a 25′ buffer! And no one was in the locker room. I took a nice hot soapy shower. But lo, no more.

Get ready to take your poles on vacation

However, I have my Nordic Walking poles. You can be out alone…or walk your dog. Yup, biking, hiking and Nordic Walking are prefect exercises. You can easily get your heart-rate up a few points. You will be aerobic in a few minutes.

If you’ve slacked off during the winter -get those poles out of the closet. Review the techniques I’ve preached about and git ‘er dun!

Yall had a lot of enthusiasm months ago….get that feeling back. Others will see you and ask what the heck you are doing – get them interested and make a friend. 6 ft apart, of course.

Try to get out 3 times a week. And make the best of this bad situation. Remember, In the end it will be all better – if it’s not better now: it’s not the end.
